Skylight flashing repair

We had a slow leak around our bedroom skylight that three different companies couldn’t figure out. Metal Valley Failure

After the big rain in September our living room ceiling started showing water stains right down the middle. Turned out the closed metal valley on our steep roof had been installed wrong years ago by whoever did the roof before us – the valley metal was too narrow and water was overshooting it during heavy downpours. HKS tore back the shingles on both sides of the valley, installed proper W-valley metal, re-shingled, and added ice and water shield underneath. Took about a day and a half with cleanup.

Chimney flashing failure

Called HKS on a Sunday night in February because water was literally dripping through our pot lights near the fireplace. Klodian answered his own phone, asked me to send pictures, and had a crew out Monday morning first thing. The chimney step flashing had separated from the brick – probably from years of freeze-thaw pushing the mortar out. They cut out the old flashing, ground out the mortar joints, installed new galvanized step and counter flashing, and sealed everything with new mortar and caulking. The whole thing was done by early afternoon. Honest diagnosis and quick turnaround.
